The Paul Bechtold Library

Extensive Resources for Study and Research

The Paul Bechtold Library contains 150,000 volumes and receives 500 periodicals, providing resources for study and research by students and faculty members. The library’s holdings include the Weber-Killgallon collection in religious education, and the library collection is particularly strong in materials related to religious orders, religious life, and Franciscan Studies.


CTU’s memberships in the Association of Chicago Theological Schools, Chicago Area Theological Library Association, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), and the I-Share Group Catalog allow library patrons access to other library resources in the city of Chicago, the state of Illinois, and the rest of the nation.

Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday 11a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.


Summer and Semester Breaks
Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
